2 bm5a with a bm9s
« on: November 15, 2005, 12:00:39 PM »

Do you think will it be good for nearfield monitoring? Anyone heard a setup like this? Any experience?

I don't know the sub-woofer but I have to tell you I think there is a considerable drop in quality  from the 6as to the 5as.

Tamas,

You seem intent upon acquiring this setup.  I agree that you could do a little bit better, even within the Dynaudio line. 6's or 15's perhaps.

Excuse me to do this. Actually I try to get an answer for that will the bm5a-s have great headroom for me? Not forgeting that it's 100watts each, and my room or say working position is very small. We've got a pair of bm15a-s in an other quite similar room, without room treatment, errr... all I can say is it's impossible to use for mixing. I know because of the room, but there are those fabulous near-midfield monitors (bm15a-s)without the chance to use it well.

Understood.  If it were me, I would go with 2 X BM6 + the 9 sub instead of the 5's.
