Neumann M550?

Hi Klaus, long time. Thanks all of you again for the advice on the U67's.
Question: have you ever come across an M550? I was told by one of the techs at A&M Studios (now Henson) that it was a Neumann mod to a FET and legit. Any idea?

I have not heard of such a model.
But we have Neumann company veterans who frequent this forum. Maybe they can give a definitive answer.

I found this article but I'm not sure how to interpret it.

The timeline on the AES document seems to indicate that the M550 was probably a FET conversion of the M50, at a time the AC701 had been phased out of Neumann's production.

Ah ok thanks Klaus, I wanted to make sure it's not some homemade DIY hack
