need Yamaha PM1000 help...?
« on: September 05, 2004, 01:04:15 PM »

Hi,

I have a Tascam MX-2424 hooked directly up to a Yamaha PM-1000. The inputs seem to be getting noisier over time, and seems unusable today. There is a low frequency rumbling across all inputs, with a slight wind-like noise.

When I plug other inputs (SM57, sub-outs on my Mackie) into the Yamaha, no rumble.

Puh-leez help...

Further troubleshooting shows it to be the Tascam power supply... weird

Be suspicious of ALL electrolytics in the Tascam supply, and believe it or not, faulty soldering on the power supply board(s).
