Cytomic "The Glue" comp

Actually, not half bad! I tried it out today. Has a lot of the characteristics of a 4000 series bus compressor, with some cool features like a sidechain HP filter, mix control and a peak limiter on the output so you can drive your levels a bit. Has some legitimate presets too.
I like it! Try out the demo

i STILL find it (in its latest iteration) very heavy handed.
as though it's designed for the "hey, now THERE is a compressor!" crowd.

True. It is quite heavy, but I find you can get a nice blend with the mix control.
It doesn't replace my SSL ouboard comp, but its a fun plugin to reach for if you want something a little heavier as you put it, for sure!

I tried it and quite liked it as well. There certainly are horses for courses though. For certain styles I think it does very well.

I gave it a try. It's too heavy for my tastes as well, better name would be mortar instead of glue.

Haha good one.
Did you mess around with the mix control at all? I found I liked the plugin after I dialed it in around 40-55%
