Shockmount bands pricing
« on: January 10, 2009, 11:13:34 PM »

I've realize that several of the shock-mounts are starting to remind me of woman over 40 in the chest area.  That is, a little more slack than those twentysomethings. Sooooooooo, without offending a single female engineer here, I'm just looking for a source for fair priced bands.
I would think we should ne able to just mention band 'diameter' and not necessarily model, to determine price.  Are you with me so far?  If you can point me to a seller that ask THAT, then I'm probably more interested.
No different than having a musician come to your studio, see the nice toys and ask the hourly, and you reply with 'how much ya' got?'

Shock bands?  Is that a new sub-genre of metal?

I've used elastic cord that I bought at a fabric store to replace the cord on a couple AT shock mounts, it looks & feels exactly like the original stuff.

I must have missed that thread. Ages ago, I tried neoprene O-rings and found them not to retain their elastic memory very long and sagged after a short while. I ended up getting a roll of elastic like the hair bands and the metal crimp connectors which work perfectly with my elco/edac style pin crimper
