Compare/Contrast ACM-6802T and ACM-1200
« on: March 20, 2008, 02:10:24 PM »

Hi,

I was hoping that some users may be able to offer some insight into the sonic and practical differences, similarities, and other attributes for the two mic's:

ACM-6802T
and
ACM-1200

Thanks in advance for your thoughtful time and consideration.

We are all shooting a little bit in the dark here.

Personally, I have not yet seen or heard either.

I do know that the 1200 is considered more the "flagship"  model.

Well, I've got a stereo pair of each of those on order (plus a couple other pieces that should also be interesting) so I was looking for any insight.

I will be able to post some notes when I personally know more but was hoping to find some comparisons before then.

Hopefully we'll be able to explore the various post purchase mods as well.

Cheers,

Yes, I'm getting a pair of the 1200's for sure as well, and perhaps the 68's, just to test them.

I suspect that the mics will be similar sonically and that the biggest difference will be how cool they look and how easy they are to mod. But how cool they look is the most important thing.

Good sense is, of all things among men, the most equally distributed; for everyone thinks himself so abundantly provided with it, that those even who are the most difficult to satisfy in everything else, do not usually desire a larger measure of this quality than they already possess.

How they look in the video is the most important thing.

That's why we all use Sony 800's with metal perf pop screens.
