waveform generation
« on: January 19, 2006, 11:40:18 AM »

does anyone know of a good (possibly free) sinewave generator that can sweep to 100k?  so many test generator are seem less than pure sounding and I can't find any plugs that go above 20k.

To sweep till 100k you need at least 192Khz audio card (and it is not enought for 100k), for the Nyquist theorem
You need a 200Khz audio card (but do they exist?)

true.
Lynx have 200k convertors.  it's not just for playback though, trying to develop something and want one less thing to do.
thanks

You are right, a lot of audio editors limit high generated frequencies. I don't know if this happens as consequence of the audio card rate.
Probably you need matlab for this issue.
Check "cool edit" before, I haven't that application but I know italian university uses it for waveform generation (for example Farina's studies about volterra kernels).
