plugging direct into Delta 1010LT
« on: January 10, 2006, 07:15:36 PM »

Im using a Delta 1010LT as my soundcard, i also have a presonus tube pre that i bought to use for my condenser microphone. I record into cubase sx 3

Basically the rest of my setup consists of a midi controller and monitors, so far i have avoided the need for a mixer board because the 1010LT has onboard mixers or something.

So now i have amplitube, and i cant figure out a way to plug my electric guitar direct into the sound card. There are 2 XLR inputs and then a bunch of RCA jacks. Ive tried plugging my instrument into the presonus tube pre's "instrument" input, but the signal that gets played back through my monitors has tons of gain and is always clipping. The gain knob and drive knob are both down all the way on the preamp.

I need to get a nice clean signal for amplitube, is there anotehr way that im missing here? i was really hoping to avoid buying a mixer board.
