« on: September 17, 2005, 05:41:48 AM »

Hi fans..

I just bought a TASACAM M-3500, with service-manual, Manual and just out fresh of a total revision (recapped), looks like new.. it's the 8 stereo, 24 mono channel with 8 bus.. with stand and METERbridge

for 1400$..

now kill me guys;) and let me know if I am totally stupid or just a cheese-sucker;)

thanx

add: I CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN this TASCAM and a D&R 4000 series.. also fully recapped, 24 channels.. with meterbridge. only 900$.. puh.. advice needed:)

Hey George,

I had one of the Tascam 3500's back in the late 80's early 90's and it was a very decent board.  It was on the "warm" side.  We ran it into a tascam 16 track reel to reel, and made some very sweet sounding recordings.

I always like the sound of that combo better than the Mackie 3208's into ADATS that we switched to later.

Best of luck.

Hey man, I love my TrashCam...err...Tascam! Smile  It's even older than Frob's Model 5 - it's a MODEL 3!  I use it all the time.  Still very flexible.  Starting to show it's age with meters that act funky, a headphone/control room section that's gone Tango Uniform and scratchy faders, but hey, it was free, and it's older than I am!

It's built like a tank, so it's on the list for mods.

The channels are modular (though they require a bit of disassembly of the whole board to remove), which is nice.
