Sorry in advance for the basicness of this question, but a forum search didn't come up with an answer. I would like to mult the output from a preamp into the D/A for a processed leg and an uprocessed leg on the way into a DAW. Is a simple "Y" cord all I need or do I need a splitter with some sort of transformer to maintain signal strength, etc.? Thanks.

A "Y" should work fine in this instance since your D/A inputs are relatively high impedance in 99.99% of all cases.
Where you would run into problems is driving the inputs of, say, a pair of LA-2As which have 600 Ohm input impedance.

You could also use a patchbay.
