Title: AKG C28C transformer changed?
Post by: wdevlieger on November 29, 2017, 04:41:38 AM
Hi.
I was wondering if a AKG C28C has the same T14/1 transformer as the C28A and C28B versions (and C24, 251) have.
I know the "C" version has a different circuit compared to the "A" and "B" versions, but I'm not sure if the transformer changed as well.
Does anybody know this?
Thanks.

Yes,
The C28C has a different transformer than its predecessors, C28 and C28B, due to the use of a Nuvistor, rather than the 6072 tube, as impedance converter.

Hello,

I have a C28C on my desk right now. The primary of the OT is open. Does anyone have specs for a replacement? As Klaus mentioned on the previous post, this is not a T14/1.

Thank you for any information!

best,
matti

Contact Dennis Maximova at TAB-FUNKENWERK ([email protected]). He may have specs and be able to rewind your transformer.

Klaus, a late thank you for an excellent piece of advice!

And thank you Dennis for superb service and great transformer. In case anyone else has a C28C with broken transformer, I am happy to let you know that he definitely can either repair yours or even sell a replacement. Thumbs up, guys, one more mic up and running again!
