Another case of "out with the old, in with the new" After 85 years. Babe Ruth hit the first HR in that park. Now Wrigly and Fenway are the only 2 original parks left.

I think the year the Yankees are having is the Baseball Gods' punishing the Yanks for tearing down the shrine.
I'm a Mets fan. I have a lot of happy memories of Shea, but it was never a great park. Yankee Stadium was a great place to see a ballgame. Plus it was YANKKE FUCKING STADIUM! I always went at least once a year just as a baseball fan. The history at that place, even after the remodeling, was palpable.
Weird trivia- Shea Stadium is the third oldest park in the National League. (After Wrigly and Chavez Ravine)

ive been to yankee stadium, saw them beat the tigers as a kid...
now some of this is the homer in me,probb, but since you brought it up, dodger stadium(chavez ravine) is the most beautiful ball park out there...
probb if you've never been you really should try to get out here...a great spring night is awesome at that park...
truly consistent with costners bull durham remarks about temples and whatnot...
of course ive always viewed recording stuidos with the same amount of gusto and awe...

As a baseball fan, I'm bummed I never got to see it in person.
Kauffman stadium is (was) arguably one of the most beautiful stadiums in the majors. I can't wait to see it after the renovations.
