Higher track counts. Stuff with 16-20 tracks is fine, but not really representative of much that's out there in the commercial world (in my experience, obviously everything is context dependent..). |

80 tracks of total crap would be a fun challenge. |

That shouldn't be hard to find... |

1. - Female fronted Metal in the vein of Parkland Drive or perhaps Under Oath (screamo)... but the female "growler" is pleasant enough to listen to... Female drummer on this one too! |

I'd like to see higher track counts too. And frankly, I'd like to see higher SR/bit rate files, but I realize that wouldn't be fair to some of the people who enjoy participating but maybe can't work with HD. Maybe a project where both a standard resolution AND a high resolution version is provided? That might be an interesting comparison in and of itself. DF |

Post by: DCombs on July 29, 2010, 04:09:43 PM one of my least favorite parts about imp is that we post a song once, people give you a horribly vague statement followed by the end of the event. it would make more sense to let people post their fixes and have their team critique again. i believe this would help all of our mixes. any one else agree? ...just spitballin'. Post by: Eric H. on July 29, 2010, 05:08:56 PM I know I usually go back and change things based on feedback. Post by: DCombs on August 02, 2010, 03:47:50 PM i have a song with 48 tracks ready to go. all i would need to do is send you a zip file and for you to upload. if you need a sample i can send you one. but this is a song i did for the womb, and i thought it turned out kinda cool. Post by: j.hall on August 02, 2010, 05:45:29 PM i think the small groups of reviews will be easy, can't we just review all the mixes on the page you posted on in the submission thread? we typically end up with 3 pages of submissions. every one reviews "their" own page. Post by: rankus on August 02, 2010, 09:37:05 PM We'd have to make sure everyone's preferences are set to display the same # of pages.. mine is set to display the maximum allowed cuz I prefer scrolling over clicking.. not a big issue, but thought I'd better mention it in case. The setting is at the top of the page at: User CP / Settings / Messages Per Page Post by: DCombs on August 02, 2010, 09:55:21 PM i'm using megaupload.com to host the file, so here is my song submission. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2U67NFXN Post by: Gabriel F on August 03, 2010, 12:12:57 AM I said 10 as an example, choose any number of people you like. Post by: J-Texas on August 12, 2010, 12:31:04 PM A second submission deadline after the critiques to see if the mixer can deliver what the "clients" want. I'm just thinking outloud. With so many different opinions, how would one make everyone happy? What if a handful of guys were the "client"... The final word after critiques that judge recalls? Each guy gets like 5 mixers to work with. Once again, just thinking outloud because you asked. Big can of worms, I know. Post by: DCombs on August 12, 2010, 04:50:07 PM i also think a second deadline a week after the initial due date might be enough time to listen to the others and tweeze our own mixes. Post by: typek on August 14, 2010, 02:33:13 PM This means we have to be strict on the deadline. I like the idea of groups, if we can get it organized!
