I am doing a little more DDP these days, no problem with it in practice.
However when I have listened/Plextooled a CD-R pre master I know it's fine when it leaves me. Sure a DDP prevents mishandling issues related to CD-R. But other than opening it again and checking it manually after creation, it seems a little more open to the ambiguities of subsequent software reading.
Do you tend to try opening the software in another DDP capable software as opposed to that which created it?
Has anyone had much in the way of issue with DDP based on the formats
reliance on software, which like all software I imagine is updated from time to time. For example the Eclipse software that many plants use before glass master creation.

I open up the image.dat file and do a null test against the original WAV I imported into the DDP creator.

Ok thanks, even if you sequenced separate .wavs per track to create the DDP ?
I think this ends up being a workflow question more than anything though.
I use Nuendo 4 to perform sonic adjustments/capture analogue and
PQ in another application, SADiE or more recently Wavelab 7.
It would be nice to open the DDP in something that was not it's creator.

I make the DDP in either Sequoia or Pyramix and then get a chance to listen in Sonoris DDP Player - the same bit o' kit I send to all my clients.

The DDP player seems like a very tidy option for checking the DDP created by another app.
Today I just re-imported it and burnt a CD, kind of defeats the object but
I feel it's an extra manual check, I keep a ref disk anyway.
