Title: M&S processing

I've just this morning worked out how to use m&s decoding within wavelab. Its not something I've really ever used before while mastering but I keep reading about it and thought it might be quite useful.

I have a few plugin eq that can process the middle and side (left and right)seperately. (when i say left and right i mean that that the middle inforamtion is on the left and the side information is on the right of the file)

However regarding compression, i don't have a software or hardware that can process the left or right seperatley. so if i wanted to multiband the middle info but just use a full band compressor on the side info

the only way i can think to do it at the moment is to highlight each channel and process them seperately.

Surely there must be a better way as.
what kind of artifacts would be experienced this way Phase???

any hints tips would be helpful

I think it would be correct but cumbersome.
keep a second of silence at the beginning of the sound file. cut when ready.
both compressor settings must be sample-accurate and not add or delete samples when processed through wavelab.
when the song starts with a hard hit, the compressors might overshoot in different ways. then I would copy the start attack so that it repeats with a minimal gap. later cut out like said.

you might consider a different host. I use tracktion (for its price), with some tricks it can route the signals the right way.
