Well-written article; all true, I am sure, since it correllates with the policy as I understand it of that nation.

It reminds me of another article that I saw which said that we need to "praise the Chinese for their Olympics, so that they  have a healthy happy feeling about opening themselves to the west".  I think the media has held back to a degree, and that is good, but I would have felt deprived if I hadn't been able to read a grittier story such as this one about the real goings-on at the Faux-lympics.

But you know, we've got Misty May and Kerri Walsh and they don't.  Cool

P.R., baby.  It's always about P.R.  Perception is reality...

Watching Jimmy Page pretend to play his guitar during the closing ceremonies was unreal.

I was wondering if that was a prerecorded performance.....I couldn't hear hardly anything since the TV feed seemed to be from a mic in the audience rather than just through the boards, so I thought that it was possible that there may have been some delay in between the audio and the visuals. If that be the case, they put a live monitor there for show in front of Jimmy, to make it look authentic.....

Why would they do that- were they afraid he'd make a mistake?
