Title: Website is up
Post by: Allen Corneau on April 17, 2012, 04:00:17 PM
Howdy folks,

Just a quick note to let you know my (nearly) finished website is up and running. (It's only been... what, 7 months or so?)

Take a gander and let me know if you see anything that you like, doesn't make any sense, or is just plain dumb.

Thanks!

Looks GREAT and very PROFESSIONAL - Nice Job

Thanks.

In keeping with the "get a professional to do it right the first time" philosophy...

I tapped one of my old climbing friends, Isaac Ayala, whom is a professional graphic designer, to design my logo and business card, and he also sketched out the basic look of the main page.

I bartered mastering time with another client, Jacqui Sutton, whom is a professional technical writer, to help me with most of the scripting.

I also bartered mastering time with another client, Jeremy Osborne, whom is a professional web designer and coder, with the website construction/build.

Most of the credit goes to them!

Well done Allen, you've got a clean balance of need to know and nice to know information. No noise. ;-)

Thanks Dana.

That's exactly what I was trying to achieve; informative but clean.

Thanks Nick.

Update:

The logo has been fixed so the "M" isn't fuzzy/half-missing.

The brightness of the text has been taken down a notch and is now a little easier on the eyes.

Give it a look!

Looks good.  A very well thought out and designed website.  The content is well written and to the point.

My only critique is where are the pictures?  You have a great shot of yourself on the front page.  Why no picture of your room, gear, etc.?  In my experience clients are interested in seeing where you work and what your setup looks like.

Going off topic...

I just noticed the pic of your new room, Mark. How are you adjusting?

Pictures are in the works and will be added to the website in the near future.

I just made a separate thread about my new spot.

Thanks Brad.

I stole several ideas from your website. Hope you don't mind!
