Title: Thanks For The Earplugs!
Post by: Keyrick on May 06, 2004, 08:31:02 PM
I just got my new FMR RNP and there was this thing in the box that I thought was just a keychain with a wierd looking whoppie cushion thingy attached.  Then I figured out it was a pouch and there was a set of earplugs in the pouch!  Cool!

Hey Fletcher, Thanks For The Earplugs! Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

Hell no... it's part of the process for either the intern, or when one of my daughters fucks up and needs to do some "community service" to get out of a jackpot.

The plugs those pouches come with are total shit so we buy the E*A*R plugs to replace the crappy ones we get from the merch company... it's a pain in the balls but that's why the good lord gave us interns and misbehaving children.

I just used a "RNP" and I would like to say, it is decently formidable. It did what I asked it to do...so cool!

(shameless plug for it, I know...I know...)

It compares to nothing. It does what it does, which was perfect for the project. Glad I got to fuck with it. Decent is the word.

Look like it would also be cool to have one hanging around here from time to time use.

Level,

I'm an amateur who tries to buy the best stuff that I can afford.  And for me, who had nothing but the preamps in my machine (Yammy AW2816) and a Mackie 1202, this unit is incredible.  I have a TLM-103 that I used to have to crank up so much that noise of my machine was very audible and with this guy, I can set the trim level so that I dont hear that noise at all.  And the mic sounds so much better.  Same with my KSM-44.  I have to be carefull with my SM-81 as it puts out a much hotter signal, so I drop the gain down a bit.

So, from an amateurs prospective, this thing is great.

As for the "whoppie cushion thingy", they're a perfect little guitar pick stash box. I prefer Macks Earplugs, they don't irritate.

My second favorite item when opening a box from Mercenary Audio is the plugs.

I now have them in my car, studio, rehearsal room and guitar cases.

Thanks Fletcher and Company.

The plugs are nice, but they don't go down so well with milk as the mint cookies.

Very Happy

Damn near threw the RNC box out before I discovered the "HUH" thing at the bottom. These guys saved my Head at the last Anthrax concert Smile
