Title: Auditronics - history of
Post by: Manning on December 17, 2011, 09:41:52 PM
Hi all,

I am about to open a new studio in Sydney Australia with a gorgeous Auditronics 701 as the primary console. This console has a proud Australian history (eg. the song "Under the Milky Way" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-mQyRuHIuA
 - was recorded on it... a long time before I owned it, obviously).

Anyway I'm just starting to get our studio website into shape (it's only a template at the moment), and I realised I wanted to say something about our console. so I began googling and discovered that information on Auditronics is close to nil.

So I decided to document the history of this great old American company. I've already managed to get in touch with "Jerry" and "Mark" who were both techs with Auditronics since the 1970s.

However I'm posting here in case anyone here has more information. I know one member (compasspnt) has mentioned that they knew Welton Jetton (the founder). If anyone has anything they'd like to share, please feel free.

Cheers, Manning
