Title: 'Affordable' PSU solution for V276 modules
Post by: RMoore on January 08, 2007, 11:12:16 AM
I have a pair of these preamp modules which I quite like & was thinking of a portable solution to take for recording at other studios,

The ones I have are in a mega rack with some other v series and a giant Siemens rack PSU w enough amperes for a whole console

Can one just grab any 1/2 decent 24v DC power supply from an electronics shop?

The idea is to have something light & portable

Hello Ryan,

for a pair of V276 you can use any 24V (300mA) supply that is regulated and has a ripple less than 50mV. Make sure that your wall wart supply has a proper PE/Ground connection otherwise you end up dealing with 50(60)Hz buzz as well that your V276 act like an AM detector...

Best regards,
