Title: Which Half? (& an answer for Steve)
Post by: A. Daly on December 12, 2005, 11:52:43 AM
Big Black CD Text on "Songs About..."

"this compact disk is made from analog masters recorded without noise reduction. half the tracks, in fact, were recorded in a dismal, cheap basement eight-track studio with puddles of water on the floor. digital technology will now faithfully reproduce those noisy, low-fi, unprofessional masters for you at great expense.
feel stupid yet?"

My first question is *which* half? - And more importantly anything you can share with us about the recording and mixing of this album?

Such as how you arrived at the optimum puddle depth etc. Very Happy

And my answer to the question "feel stupid yet?" - Which I've wanted to give for years is No, I stole the CD from a bar I worked in my youth, so the expense was minimal and the benefit was tremendous. One of the first albums I can remember that had me questioning what I liked and didn't like about music, and my "taste" never recoved it's dash into the left-field, so thanks! Smile
