Title: cakewalk 7 .bun files clip in cakewalk 9
Post by: mogwailoveyou on January 21, 2005, 04:12:32 PM
I'm trying to help a friend mix some songs from his main studio (where I use cakewalk 7) on his home machine where he uses cakewalk 9. On the studio machine everything sounds right, but when I bring it over to 9 the sum of the tracks cause the song to clip. I can fix this by turning down the volume on each of the tracks but I'd like to know why I'm losing my headroom. i've heard from someone that it might be a difference in bit rates from the original recording to the new machine but i haven't had a chance to test this yet. any ideas?

i know nothing about cakewalk, but if you can solve the problem by turning the tracks down i'd go with that.

seems odd that an earlier version of the software has more headroom.
