Title: For Sale - Barry Porter EQ (built by Barry)
Post by: Hiltongrove Mastering on July 07, 2011, 09:38:48 AM
Thanks Brad for letting me post this up.

I've got a rare beast I'm trying to move on. Back in 2001 we commissioned Barry to design and build a pair of Stereo EQs for the two rooms we were running at the time. We've since transmogrified into a single room facility, and as such one of the units has been looking folornly at me, unused on a shelf. So I've decided to let it spread its wings and sell it on to someone else.

As I said, it's one of only two ever built by Barry to this design, and I'll be keeping the other. It features variable intput gain, a variable Hi-pass filter, 4 bands of eq (Lo - 20Hz-250HZ, LoMid - 100Hz-1kHz, HiMid 400Hz-4kHz, Hi - 2kHz-20kHz) each with variable Q (0.7-3) and individually bypassed. The Hi and Lo bands can also be switched to shelves. All controls continuously variable. And all the buttons light up!

It's built like a tank, and I'll be sad to see it go, but much better it gets used as intended rather than gathering dust. If you're interested, or have any questions, please PM me.

Thanks

Nicely done. There seems to be a lot of beautifully done work for only two units.

And the price is?????

Also curious, but decided it falls into the category of "if you have to ask, you can't afford it"....   ;)
