Mine seems to date from the 1920s. Haven't had to time to plug it in yet (I'll need to construct an AC cable for it first), but it seems complete and clean! Well, I plugged it in today, and SOMETHING comes on. The motor that turns the cylinder, though, fails to turn no matter what switches I flip. When I turn the cylinder by hand, though, the thing puts out that COOL static sound that I immediately identify with pre WWII recordings! Anyway, for now it will have to be a conversation piece, but little more. ML |
