Title: Identify this Studer
Post by: DavidH on April 26, 2005, 10:38:58 AM
Can anyone identify the model number of this machine. Until yesterday this tape recorder was housed in BBC studios, howver they have moved to a new state of the art digital studio and this was one of the pieces of equipment I was lucky to get my hands on before it ended up in the skip. It appears to have been modified in some way, and it is a full track mono machine with a mono head. The XLR outputs on the back have also been reversed - what I would expect to be the line in, is the line out and vice-versa.

Looks like a B67 to me...

It could very well be, it is a full track mono machine though, wasn't a B67 stereo?

I'm sure they built various versions for broadcast and such...

I suspect it's reproduce-only intended for editing.

It does record and well. I really need a new pinch roller for it but can't find anywhere I can buy one. Anyone got any ideas?
