Title: ReLab 480 XL-Very Nice
Post by: eightyeightkeys on June 04, 2010, 11:21:16 AM
Hey guys, check out the new ReLab 480 XL :
www.highprofileaudio.com

I just finished a huge pop production and was really struggling to find the right space for the lead vocals and BG's - nothing in my tool box was doing it for me. Not even close - including a demo of the new Lexicon LXP Native Reverb plug-in bundle.
The production was so massive that every reverb seemed to be tinny, or whispy or just could not be heard in the mix without some sort of nastyness or ringy-dingies.

So, in a very timely email ! Tony Belmont sent me a link to the new ReLab 480 XL beta and I gave it a shot. I'm very glad I did. It solved my mix dilemma right away. Instant big, lush, pop vocal without any ringing, dinging or artifacts of any kind. No release price yet, but, I sure hope it's reasonable.

Hmmm...

No mention of it anywhere on their website.

Is this spam?

Cheers

Hey Nick :
It's odd that it's not listed on their web site.I received a 45 day demo of the 480XL through my email with a link. I don't know if I should freely give that out or not. I'll shoot an email over to Tony.

That's the $64,000 question...no MSRP announced yet.

I'm using the beta too, just has the random hall on it, but it is REALLY nice.  Very Happy

Any of you guys (or anyone else) end up giving this plug a try? Really curious about your thoughts. And now for the too much info section...

Right now I usually use a uad plate 140 for vox etc & a couple instances of a short convolution delay/verb to "build a room" for the mix. Was thinking of supplementing the convolution route w/the UAD Cooper time cube & adding to the vocal verb option either the uad emt 250 or this Relab lexicon emulation. Any suggestions? Anybody have first have experience w/ some of these?

I also just bought an "outside the box" Lexicon PCM 60 I'm excited to try out. FYI.
