Title: Did my opinionated post go away?

I had posted an opinion thread about invisible members being a passive agressive form of forum sneaking around, and I wondered if it had gotten stuck in the ether?  There was no notification in my mailbox about an "inappropriate post" so I am truly confused.

Maybe it was a virus, in which case I would say to the virus, gosh virus, you have no balls.   Why don't you admit that you eliminated my post, and send me a PM when you did it.  That's a virus I can respect.  And who the hell cares if there is a post in the saloon about Invisible members being a way for wimpy folks to sneak around the forum.  

I think its a pussy way to go.  That is called an opinion.  Don't agree with me, fine.  I am not going to give a shit really.

I was over at gear slutz a while ago and was horrified that a thread about war in iraq was deleted with no explanation.  And also shortly after i was banned.


to be honest i wouldn't go back there as its just a fascist house.  It has nothing to offer.  You may as well read a book.

I noticed that you took quite a serious tone lately in some of your posts.  I find your posts fascistnating, at least the ones I read.  You see the drummer I am tracking has a sore arm and I don't go to other sites on the net except for this one and www.liveathomeclubmusic.co.uk so I will read just about anything sometimes.

I really don't want to manipulate what anyone says, even The Thorbinator.  I find him funny like a turd in the punchbowl.  But that could gross out some folks.  And it is annoying to have to throw out all that punch.

so anyway, does anyone besides me have an opinion about invisble members?  How is this helping keep the integrity of REP?  I guess I am just looking for elucidation, since the real name thing and then the hiding from view thing seem inconsistent.  Not that I am trying to track anyone down.  I am just not going to go on in invisible mode either.

I don't see it as being out of line - some folks just don't want to be seen reading the forums for whatever reason. I certainly don't see it being contrary to the 'real name' policy that some of the forums have instituted.

I'm curious, why does it bother you?

It (IMO) just doesn't seem to be in keeping with the "full name", "put it on the table" mentality that this forum seems to promote.

First off, only about half (actually less than half) of the forums require the use of one's full name.

Secondly, what difference does it make if you can see if someone is online? How is that contrary in any way to the policies of forums requiring the use of one's full name? It is a totally unrelated topic.

You do understand why the use of a full name is required on some of these forums, right? Someone's visibility on the 'who's browsing' list is completely irrelevant to the name policy which has been implemented on some of the forums...
