I have my first attended session today. As someone still learning this business, thanks to all of you who've helped make this possible.

I know just how you feel. When I decided to switch from mixing to mastering around 2000, I found Brad on the old Rec.Aud.Pro. He was, and continues to be, an amazing source of solid info and encouragement. Go get 'em T.!

The one thing I hate about going to the Dr or dentist is it's, "hi how are you" and then on to business. I encourage and enjoy clients arriving 5 or 10 minutes early to talk about the wives, kids and life in general and get comfortable. Because once I start importing, listening and working on their tracks I'm "zoned in" and become pretty intense. Having good coffee is also mandatory, but sometimes I forget to brew up enough ahead of time.
Tell us how your session goes!

Congrats!
It's really a people business, audio mastering is the service we provide.

Damn the torpedo's and Gods speed...the client's always right unless of course they're wrong in which case they're still right anyway... so just make it sound good...; )

It went really well. We're having guests for Easter, but I'll give more details when I have the chance. Client is happy, but I think I'm going to make some mods to the high end to make it PERFECT.

Congrats. Big step. My only complaint about attended sessions is that I have to keep my pants on.

I remember my first attended session and how scared I working with my first "real" client. A It was fun and the client was well pleased. I still have the album on my wall as a reminder of where I started.
Best of luck and what everyone else has said....

Thanks, everyone. I'm waiting on the client before submitting to the plant.
Yeah, I had to wear pants. I don't know that I have too many interesting details about the goings-on during the session, but I will say that it was good that I was prepared, knowledgeable about my setup/software/hardware, and just chilling out at the restaurant down the street for lunch put a nice break in the middle of the day.
She already converted one song to mp3 and posted it on her Myspace. All that hard work down the drain. : )
Just kidding. Kinda.

And I just had my first request for mastering work on my Myspace page.
