Title: Tracking with LPF

Because a conventional eq (both analog and digital) causes a phase shifting of the audio material that travel inside it, I would like to know if it is raccomanded to tracking with a tipical HPF switched on that we usually can find in common preamp (my is Avalon AD2022)?
Apart from the frequencies that this filter can permanently cut off, could this phase shifting affect and deteriorate the material, since this hi pass happens in the record process and cannot be undone?

Well, sure it can. Take a listen and make sure it sounds as good as you can get it, then track it.

It could really help too. No way to tell without listening!
