This is my opinion----

Myself & Phil Eck, on any given day the sound of those twos mixes make me cringe.

If any of my bands were cool enough to be indie rock it might be me!

I'm going with myself, Phil Eck and Steve Revitte...

Funnily enough there's been stuff from Eck and Revitte that I have liked a lot, but in general... yikes!

The Built to spill stuff is good but then again, when in Rome... Every other thing I've heard has a midrange that makes me want to puke. I can't even listen to the Les Savy fav album he did. The first 2 bars give me the hives.

Same here... I do dig the Modest Mouse albums because the music is good, but I have to try not to listen to them with an AE mind, likewise with the Pretty Girls Make Graves stuff.

I think I said it before, it's not that the guy is horrible per se, but he has a weird sense of frequency balance and tends to get the bloody overheads above everything else.

Likewise with Revitte, the first Liars album was great musically but the mix made me want to stick rusty forks in my ears.

I think thta's where he started.

I only know the last two BTS records, and I love those.  I've not heard anythine else, except the Pretty Girls MP3 you linked.  I will not pass judgement on MP3s I only listened to once.
