Just demo'd the new Soundelux E-49. First impressions are: very similar tonally to the real M-49, slightly less top end and more midrange than the U-47 or E-47 I compared it to. Also, it had a more open character in cardioid mode compared to a 47. My sense was that this mic could be great for female singers who already have enough high end in their voices, or for strings or horns . I'm keeping it.
