Post by: Taproot on July 24, 2008, 09:56:03 PM: Brad, all I can say is I'm glad I got the heck out of there when I did and crime was a deciding factor for me, even back in '98. All we get is Memphis news and every morning it's pretty much the same, last night, (x) people murdered, (x) people raped, (x) home invasions. Too much to list. Honestly, Oxford's feeling a little too close to Memphis these days.

In fact, even tonight as I look towards Memphis (from Saint Louis) I can see a kind of holy glow on the horizon. Oh. That's the house next door. Never mind.

And yes, I'm glad I got out when I did as well. It's pretty grim now.

The film, "National Lampoon Vacation" is very unfair to STL as it really represents East St. Louis. And Harold Ramis knows it because he attended Washington University here.
