Title: Advice on a front end/channel strip
Post by: Julio Di Benedetto on August 27, 2004, 11:44:06 PM
Greeting everyone....Im new to this Forum.

Im searching for a front end unit for my project studio. The studio is all instrumental(analog and digital keyboards)which currently runs into a Motu interface and on into Logic 6 on a Dual G4.

I have had my eye on the Toft Design ATC-2 and also the Avalon 747. The Toft unit is attractive, price and feature wise and the need for stellar mic pres is not a concern. The Avalon unit...well this would be my first choice.

I know theres alot in between and above. As I do not use mics and just go DI there maybe no need for a unit that has the  "best" mic pres.

I do want a good signal that is true to the instrument being recorded and yet add sweetness, presence with some eq control before going into the digital domain.

I have posted here because I really can see the difference when individuals use their real names....the language does change.

All the best,
