There's a strange occurance that happened when I converted from 24/48 to 16/44.1 with dither pow-r 3. This particular song fades in with a heart beat, and fades out with it as well.

The intro heart beat doesn't have a problem, but the outro fade sounds as though there's a gate, so you really don't hear the heart beat to its fullest when fading out.

Any suggestions why this is happening?

Did you try a different type of dithering ?
