Seems harsh that there isn't enough profit in the high-end gear to keep everyone happy. Do they use some esoteric parts in the GML gear?

Look at the sales numbers for the real story. Most folks wanting one can find a used one for far less $$$. There are only so many that will pop several thousand for an EQ. That market has probably already been filled.

Yes, I bet with other nice EQs in that league coming along, they've seen an impact.  A couple that come to mind are the SPL, Knif & Buzz. Also a lot of folks who might get a GML are building Bary Porter Net EQs.  Not to mention, Sontec is still at it.

Building or fixing those burned up discrete transistors that always fry?

That was one box that could have benefited from long warrantee.

They are like religion, love them, curse them... Fletcher once suggested he wouldn't Pi#$ on it if it were on fire, and it's likely that it would be.

I'm guessing there are a few people here who use them every day and they run like a top.  I never used one, but have heard them on a lot of records.

I've seen a fair number in rooms from LA to Guadalupe. I never had a chance to use one, every time they were broken and waiting for service, parts or hope.
