Title: Recording outdoors in potentially humid weather
Post by: GS_Dave on February 17, 2012, 10:16:20 AM
I have never recorded outdoors before and was wondering how concerned I ought to be using DPA and Schoeps small diaphragm condensers in terms of inviting contamination from humidity, pollen, or any other hazard I can't think of right now.   I'm in the northeastern US and the session will be in June, where humidity can reach over 90% at times.  What are some preventative actions I can take to help protect the mic?  Is there a trusted procedure to acclimate the mics before taking them out of their cases?  Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Dave Snyder
