Nice. Thanks!

How do you know it's the 37A and not the later 37P?
-
....because, unlike the C37A, the C37P had a -8dB attenuator switch midship:

oops... have one right here and didn't think o that. Thoughts about the sound difference between the two? Always wondered whether it would be a worthwhile investment and haven't had one here.

Tonelux (i.e. PMI, I believe) has announced that they're making clones of the C37A and P, available soon. $2500/$1500 are the list prices, respectively. No info yet on who is making the capsules, or much of anything else.

As long as this is not advertising, hidden or overt, the post remains, until someone has tested the mic and compared it to a C37A

C37A has a cathode follower tube amp
C37P has a FET amp
I'm familiar with the C37A but not the C37P so I cannot comment on the differences.
That image of Hendrix was taken at TTG Studios in LA October 1968.
"Castles Made of Sand" was recorded at Olympic Studios in London October 1967.

Sorry. Should have specified. I know the basic circuit difference, just never had the two side by side to compare the sound.
Will be interesting to see how the Tonelux versions compare.

I did a screen grab from Rolling Stone with that pic. They had labeled as I did. Maybe another recording session or they just used what they had?
