In the final analysis, the world is a dangerous place. Everyone is going to die, and some people are certain to die in a manner that is brutal or painful. In 2001, more than 42,000 people died from car crashes in the United States and hundreds of thousands of Americans died from heart disease and cancer. The 9/11 attacks were the bloodiest terrorist attacks in world history, and yet even those historic attacks resulted in the deaths of fewer than 3,000 people, a number that pales in comparison to deaths by other causes. This is in no way meant to trivialize those who died on 9/11, or the loss their families suffered, but merely to point out that lots of people die every day and that their families are affected, too. |

Yves and Ian, please actually read the OP then my post. If you still completely miss my point I'll try to give a better explanation. Short version: I suspect we may agree if you'll go beyond the first line of my post. My never having felt personally threatened does not lesson my concern and empathy for those who have. Mr. Stewart seems to think we should view terrorism as CODB. Much the way a retailer views "shrinkage."
So since 42,000 died in ACCIDENTAL car crashes (over the course of a year) and ONLY 3000 were deliberately murdered to make a religious/political statement (in a few hours), we're overreacting. F--- Y-- Mr. Stewart. Is that a little more clear, guys? |

How do we know terrorist weren't behind those crashes? Chevy. It must mean something. |
