Last week my Sound Devices 744T finally arrived! Yes, it *is* tiny, and it *is* nifty , with more features than you can shake a stick at.
Only problem, as far as I'm concerned, is that it was designed for film & video work, not for field recording. In the field, all my critical gear (recorders, mics, cables, power supplies) travels in one backpack. The 744T has all kinds of exposed connectors, so it wouldn't be happy, unprotected, in a backpack.
The cases Sound Devices recommends (Pelican, et al) are *way* too heavy and bulky for my purpose.
So I'm wondering where a sturdy form-fitting polythene box might be found.
And leads greatly appreciated.
