Title: yamaha 01v96 vcm and cubase LE AI Elements 7 64 bit?
Post by: Richard Wong on November 21, 2015, 10:58:51 AM
Hi everyone

I own several copies of Cubase LE...bla,bla,bla and also 3 Steinberg UR series preamps (UR-22, UR-44, UR-824)

I also own a Yamaha 01v96 vcm mixer

The Yamaha docs say it is compatible with Cubase SX ??

Anyhow, if I could get the 01v to talk to Cubase, could I use the mixer as both a control surface and substitute for the UR's?

In other words, I would like to plug up to 16 mikes, etc into the 01v, send dry signals to Cubase, then mix, tweak in either Cubase or by sending back out to the 01v

I want to keep the raw music intact.

Is this doable?  Will there be latency issues....? other problems?

TIA

You're WAY outside my area of expertise... wish I could be of some assistance, but alas, I got nothin'.

Peace

From what I was able to read about the mixer, Cubase can control the mixer but the mixer cannot be used as a computer audio interface.  You would still need to use the Steinberg UR interfaces to get audio in and out of the computer.

Thanks for the responses....I've been playing with it a bit and so far...

I can get 24 channels in all in to my daw....but I need to upgrade to a full version of cubase
settings for buffers can be  a bit tricky, but looking good so far
