Yes, wood glue.

I wonder if this would be a good method to use for those transfer/clean-up jobs...

Now that's an original approach!
Then I would want to use a water based cleaner to remove any residual glue.
Hey Amigos, I'm thinking of adding a more serious record cleaning device to our arsenal.
We've got a couple of disc-washers, which are just fine,
but I'm thinking of something a little more intense.
Any recommendations?
Gracias, JT

Aha thanks Greg, that's what I was curious about.

Seems to work fine. As long as the disc is vinyl and not shellac or some other substance, such as lacquer, plexi, or Decelith. Lock-Tite dries so completely overnight that it pulls right off and leaves no residue. Pulls out deep-set grime, dust, and debris. Might even be able to play the glue master with a bifurcated stylus. The grooves are quite well defined.

Looks great!
Here is something else that caught my eye recently http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/gem/dandy.html
If you want to make your own http://www.teresaudio.com/haven/cleaner/cleaner.html
and fi you just want to spend money http://www.needledoctor.com/Clearaudio-Double-Matrix-Professional-Record-Cleaner?sc=2&category=106
NOTE: Lots of college and high school libraries are getting rid of their vinyl collections and are selling off their record cleaning machines. A good friend of mine picked up a very nice record cleaning machine in mint condition with chemicals for $25.00 at a library sale. You might want to look around Austin first.
