I am about to purchase some items but am paranoid about sending a lot of cash to someone unfamiliar. please reply ASAP

This is pretty nebulous sounding.

Is this from Ebay, or some intermediary that at least provides some form of protection?

That is nowhere near enough information upon which to base a purchase.

And in concert, you must not send cash!

This has all the earmarks of disaster.
