I just bought an Apogee Rosetta 200 (used). Will it make audible difference to use Monster Cable or Apogee's cables?
-
Depends. Some Monsters had cold solder joints which will definitely make a major audible difference.

I have been using a rosetta 800 for years. Have the apogee cables, but on the 800 you have to, they are d-sub breakouts to XLR. Then again, I have Monster cables in the studio and used them for years and they are fine. Not a company I support anymore due to some business practices I do not care for.

I just had some made for my 800 at Redco and had them use Mogami cable. Very helpful guys there.
Im happy.

Monster is overrated IMO.

The AES Monster Cables Prolink I bought (I haven't opened them yet) say "Black Neutrik XLR with 24k gold contact, polished silver coated OFC conductors, low dielectric constant insulators, multitwist construction, copper bradi, 110 ohm construction". It bothered me that the packaging says "for home studios" instead of "professional". I know it's petty, but I don't want to spend all that money on the Rosetta only to sacrifice in between. If you guys recommend I send them back to Sweetwater and replace them with another brand, please let me know. I trust the opinions here. Thanks

The brand of cable does not matter a whit, as long as it's properly made. At least for digital...

Thank you.
