Hi, I would like to know how to store properly a Akg 414 eb with ck12 to avoid tension loss and keep it well. Does the foam in the head basket should be cleaned from time to time?
As well what are the mods do you make to this model mr Heyne? I'm happy with the sound but I'm curious. Thanks.

The eventual failure of the adhesive in many CK12 over time which relaxes the pre-tensioned diaphragms is not very well understood. Neither is the primary cause for tension loss- molecular or substrate changes in the diaphragm material.
There is little you can do to prevent loss of diaphragm tension in a CK12 beyond housing, storing and treating it the way you would your own child or pet: no temperature extremes, no transportation in a car trunk in the heat of summer, and no prolonged high sound pressure level exposure.

As I don't have box, would you know if there's some box available to store the 414 correctly?

Current models of C414 are pretty much identical in shape with your C414EB, so a factory AKG 414 case of current production will be totally adequate, never mind the writing on the case.

Regarding the box, I recently bought the aluminum AKG briefcase box for a pair of 414s. The price was reasonable considering what I had expected. (maybe $60?) However, when I got the box, the was no foam cut out for the 2 mics and shockmounts; just the empty box. I don't know where you would get the pre-cut foam, maybe it wouldn't be too hard to cut some yourself.

When I made a box for my KM86s I went to the foam store (yes, we have a foam store here) and got some ~1/2" closed cell. I was able to make gradated cutouts in the different layers such that the mics nestle in there quite nicely. I also made cutouts for a stereo bar and the mic clips. Didn't take too long, just use a very sharp utility knife or similar.

Sexy ones, ha! I like that you specify sexy ones. This is the best my point and shoot plus poor lighting combo is gonna give without some Photoshopping, it'd take more time "airbrushing" than I'd like to spend to get these photos looking really sexy.
I built the case out of some shipping crate plywood (you can see the broken glass and umbrella with rain falling on it warnings), some stain and varnish. The grey foam is a slightly different thickness than the yellow, these were what was stocked that got me a good fit for the mics.
No superb craftspersonship here, but it's got character, looks nice, and works well. Could have made it a bit smaller, I think I had some idea of fitting something else in there when I was building it...

Now if you could just add a nice little plastic bag as dust, foam and moisture barrier around each mic, you're done!

That looks great. I've heard that using an electric carving knife is a good way to cut foam.

That would probably work quite well for the longer, straight cuts.

i can attest to the fact that an electric knife works... but it tends to leave lots of little tiny pieces of foam, which you need to vacuum away before use with microphones.
