a question on royalty
« on: November 11, 2005, 03:09:14 AM »

im not talking about the british kind

there is a song we play live that has a recording of a speach that loops and also a recording of an alarm, like the old abomb alarms.

the alarm should not be an issue because of all the really old recordings from the cold war, manny should be freetade by now.

what concerns me is the speach, its recognizable and made with in the past few years. its a politician if that matters.

what rights if any do we need to aquire to use theese in our recordings.

Politics? No worry.

The recording belongs to someone, but if 10 networks got it (like the whores they are) I'd like to see any of them prove it's theirs. They all work together though. Wink

If it's Bush, you just need to go ahead and call CNN for clearance, they'd love to see you tear him apart!

First, always consult an attorney about legal matters.  Always.

Second, there is something called "Fair Use"-- here is a link to Stanford's site;  http://fairuse.stanford.edu/
