Hey all,
about a year ago we had an issue with one of our 184s. Pin 2 of the XLR had been pushed into the body of the mic, and the cable between the pins and the little bit of circuit board at the bottom of the mic had broken. On the solder joint at the end of the pin.
It was an easy fix, and we thought no more about it, other than altering our mic policy when we had any students in. (We still think a student tried to plug the mic in with the XLR upside down).
Occasionally we've had to open the mic up and push pin 2 back out of the mic, but we're aware of it and always check the pins when we put the mic up.
The other day, the cable on pin 1 broke. I'm thinking it was pushed aside by pin 2 a lot, and this eventually broke the solder joint on pin 1.
Has anyone seen this before? Or does anyone know of a way of fixing pin 2 in place? Is glue OK?
TIA,
Iain
