Red Book Woes
« on: October 13, 2005, 11:02:52 AM »

High guys. I'm a bit confused about the red book standard.
Can you guys help please?

The start pause time should be 2 seconds, is that correct.
Is there a minimum amount of time required between songs, and if so how does Pink Floyd get around this.

Ive come across PQ codes, ISRC codes,
UPC/EAN codes.

I basically need to know if i need to address each of these elements individually before sending off a master or is there software that basically has a button that will do all this.

Sorry for my patheticness things seem difficult when new to me.

Cheers

Yes. Your burning app should take care of that for you.

Redbook specs require a minimum time between Track IDs - which is 4 sec. If you're short, your app will likely bark at you...

William,

We've got a little blurb that explains this stuff. Visit www.airshowmastering.com/ and click on "Last Word - And Numbers On Your CD".
