High guys, i posted this in the wrong spot before.
Im thinking of tracking a strong female vocalist with a rode K2
and an SM57, in stereo. Can you guys suggest something special for me. What are the advantages and disadvantages in doing this.

depends what sound your going for but try this...
have both mics up to the vocalist, VERY close to one another, almost touching (end to end)but on their sides, if you know what I mean, not in the traditional upright manner but on their sides.
Then pan each mic hard left and right and you prob will have to invert the phase of one channel to get it sounding correct i.e the stereo imaging.

i would give them the 57 to hold or tell them to use it like they would a live mic then put the K2 about a foot or two away from them. i would then have do the take enuf times for two golden takes. then mix the two best takes from each of the mics. mix them both to taist.

Thats a damn good idea man, My girl has been performing live about 3times a week for the last 13 years, and she only 28. She get right in to it like that. Cheers man. Then i can burst in at the end and grab her bum.
