Anyway, J. --what can you tell us about megaverb? Versatile or just really good at one or a couple of things?

megaverb is an old friend of mine. i have yet to use a reverb that didn't take a little bit of tweaking to actually get a useable verb. by useable i mean something that's 75% believable or better.
i want people to think the sounds really were captured that way. although, i've had plenty of times where i just want things to to be effected in an almost "known" way.
verb is sort of a sensitive issue with me. i think it's poorly used on most of the records i've heard. which isn't to be confused with me saying i'm awesome at using it.
so.....megaverb is an old friend. we've been in the trenches together many times. i know what it does and i know how to get exactly what i want. the presets are really useful as a stepping stone and i like how many colors i can get from the presets i have available.
the tricky thing is this. i've been hunting and watching the "used" market on megaverb for a long time.....i got a screaming deal on it, however, it's days away from being discontinued.
so i have a hard time recommending out of date, non-supported software. i bought it cause i need a good verb and chorus/flanger BADLY, and i knew this particular one very well. the learning curve is 0 and as busy as i am right now, that's important.
i've heard amazing things about the system 6000 from TC. and they are releasing a plug-in series of the system 6000 algorithms......i'm very anxious to hear them.
i wish lexicon would step up to the plate and dump their 960 algorithms into a PT plug as well.
i do very little processing inside PT, but effects are one of them, and good effects are crucial
