article on life expectancy of optical media
« on: September 07, 2005, 12:39:32 AM »

I haven't finished reading it yet but so far has been interesting:

http://www.rlg.org/en/page.php?Page_ID=20744#article3

It's an article detailing a study ont the life expectancy of optical media, including CD-R and DVD-R.

Best regards,

Nice article.

Quote:

2% of the CD-ROMs may reach the end-of-life values by 10 years, and the percent of CD-ROMs to fail would increase to 13% by fifty years if the media is stored under normal office environment conditions
